CONCERT by the WORCESTERSHIRE SAXOPHONE QUARTET

St Lawrence Church was delighted to host an afternoon of entertaining music for four saxophones! The concert featured soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones played throughout as a quartet. The music journeyed through time, starting with one of the earliest saxophone quartets written in 1857 and ending with Latin dance character pieces composed in the last few years by Fabio Calzavara. In between there was a range of interesting music from the 20th and 21st century. The interval provided a welcome break for the instrumentalists who were performing in hot conditions at the front of the church and a chance for the audience to enjoy tea and home made cake and step outside to enjoy the view from the churchyard or mingle with friends and meet new people.
