As service attendance has grown so markedly at All Saints, Turkdean in recent years, the bulk of the congregation have been seated in the Nave, which has always been inadequately heated. In October 2023 the PCC decided to apply for a Faculty to permit the installation of infra-red heating and lighting chandeliers which should simultaneously improve the Nave's heating and lighting, but in a very efficient manner: providing directed heating for the congregants in the Nave without heating the surrounding and substantial volume. With luck, the Faculty should be obtained in early 2024 and Turkdean will then embark on a fund-raising effort to obtain the £20,000 that will be needed in order to install this state-of-the-art heating system.
