Occurring
for 30 mins
Venue
St Martin's Church, Barholm-with-Stowe
Address
Main Road Barholm Stamford, PE9 4RA, United Kingdom

At 10am in the Churchyard of St Martin's Church, Barholm with Stowe, Fr Aran will lead us in prayers as we remember and give thanks for all those who have fought for and served this country in war, especially those from our villages who gave their lives and whose names are read each year. We thank you for all those who fought to defeat tyranny and preserve our freedom and for the decades of comparative peace that we in Western Europe have enjoyed since 1945.
We pray for all those places where there is war and civil unrest today. We pray for all those suffering and dying as a result, especially for civilians caught up in the fighting. We pray for the work of United Nations and for all those seeking to bring conflicts to a peaceful end. We pray especially for the people of Ukraine, Israel and Gaza. We pray that the leaders of those countries may seek peace and reconciliation and that the international community may find ways of helping their people.

Dear Friends,

Thank you for taking an interest in the Church of St Martin of Tours, Barholm-with-Stowe.

Our next service in St Martin's Church, Barholm with Stowe will be on Sunday 7th December at 6pm.

Fr Aran will lead us in an Evening Prayer Service for the Second Sunday of Advent.

You will be warmly welcomed at the door by James and David, given a Traditional (BCP) Order of Service booklet to follow along with a Hymn Book.

We will hear Seasonal Scripture Readings from regular members of the congregation, these are taken from the Lectionary, both the Responsorial Psalm and the two lessons have a similar theme: Waiting and Watching as Advent progresses.

After which a thoughtful homily will be given by Fr Aran, Priest of our Seven Villages.

With love, and hope to see you soon,

Carole x
