Church of England Diocese of Lincoln Baston

St John the Baptist

Welcome to our page. St John The Baptist Church, Baston  with St Michael and All Angels at Langtoft and St Firmin's Church, Thurlby  together are the Ness Group Benefice.

St John the Baptist Church is a beautiful ancient church, first recorded as a Chapel in a Charter of 871. The existing building dates back in parts to the 12th Century. We are situated on the edge of the fens between Peterborough and Bourne.

I am pleased to say that our Church is now open for services and Private Prayer. Our weekly service online is continuing on a Sunday Morning at 10 am on our website and also on The Ness Group facebook page,  It is available on the website until the following Saturday.

"The parish of Baston: St John the Baptist is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Lincoln’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
