A Special Service for Pentecost Sunday will be held at St Lawrence's Church in Tallington.

Pentecost also known as Whitsunday, the name comes from the Greek word "pentekoste" which means fiftieth as Pentecost Sunday takes place on the 50th day of Easter.

This Christian holy day commemorates the coming of the Holy Spirit in the form of flames to the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ, as recorded in the New Testament in Acts 2:1–13, taken from the fifth book of the New Testament of the Bible and this scripture will be read to us today.

The symbols of Pentecost are those of the Holy Spirit and include flames, fire, wind, and a dove.
