Prayers for April
The Church:
· All Christians who are persecuted for their faith, especially at Easter time.
· For local church leadership.
The World:
· The people of the Ukraine, Russia and surrounding countries; that a way to dialogue and peace may be found.
· The Muslim community as they begin the Ramadan fast.
· That we may not forget the pledges that were made at COP26.
The local community:
· All those working to raise money for the support of Ukrainian refugees, and all those exploring offering accommodation and support.
· All those who will be badly affected by the rise in the cost of energy, and the cost of living generally.
· The work of foodbanks and other support agencies
The sick:
Lord, as we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, surround them with your love and healing, your reassurance and peace.
The Departed:
Rest eternal grant to them, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon them.
May the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace, and rise in glory.
Collect prayers:
Gracious Father, you gave up your Son out of love for the world:
lead us to ponder the mysteries of his passion,
that we may know eternal peace through the shedding of our Saviour’s blood,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Lord Jesus Christ,
you have taught us that what we do for the least of our brothers and sisters
we do also for you:
give us the will to be the servant of others as you were the servant of all,
and gave up your life and died for us, but are alive and reign, now and for ever.
