About Us
St Nick's is a welcoming, inclusive church in the heart of Lincoln where people of all ages and backgrounds can explore faith, find community, and encounter God. We are proud to be members of Inclusive Church and aim to ensure all are welcome.
At the centre of our life together is the Eucharist — gathering around the table of Jesus to pray, worship, share fellowship, and be reminded that everyone is invited into the love of God. Our worship blends ancient tradition with a warm and accessible atmosphere, creating space for both reflection and joy.
Our church building has stood in Newport since 1840 and was the first church designed by the renowned Victorian architect George Gilbert Scott. While we are proud of our history and heritage, we are even more excited about the future God is calling us into — a future shaped by inclusion, compassion, creativity, and hope.
St Nick's is a church where families, children, students, young adults, long-time worshippers, and people who are simply curious about faith can all feel at home. You do not need to have everything figured out to belong here. Whether you come full of faith, full of questions, or somewhere in between, you are welcome.
Music, hospitality, and community are a big part of who we are. Alongside our worship, we host social events, concerts, community groups, and activities throughout the year that bring people together and help us serve our local neighbourhood.
We believe church should be a place where people can be themselves, build meaningful relationships, and discover the love of God in real and practical ways.
Whoever you are, there is a place for you at St Nick's!
