To celebrate 25 years of our Annual Flower Festival the theme this year is "Silver". As usual it ends on August Bank Holiday Monday and runs from Friday 28 to Monday 31 August, 10.00 am to 5.00 pm each day. On Sunday 30 August we host the Sutton Elloe Benefice Service from 11.00 am to 12.00 noon and the church will only be open to those attending the service for that hour.As in past years, the Festival includes the Lutton Garage / Driveway Sale (please contact Linda Harding on 01406 364127 for more information or to book to take part in the sale). Anyone interested in helping out in any way would be very welcome (01406 363452).This year for the first time there will be an Exhibition of Lutton History and Memories in Lutton Village Hall, PE12 9HW by Long Sutton & District Civic Society on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 August from 10am to 4pmOur Barbeque was a lovely time with about 34 people present and raised £480 towards the costs of the Flower Festival. Thanks to Luke for cooking the sausages and beef burgers for us, to all who helped erect and prepare the marquee and to all who worked so hard to make the event a success.
This picture shows a view from St Mary's Church Tower over Long Sutton and surrounding countryside. We are very excited to become part of a larger Benefice as Long Sutton, Lutton and Dawsmere join with St Mary Magdalene, Gedney in a new Benefice called Sutton Elloe. We look forward to working and growing together, with the Lord's gifts and guidance, as we seek to serve Him in this area.We especially look forward to welcoming our new Priest in Charge (Incumbent Designate), Revd Mark Williams, at his licensing on Monday 21 September 2026 in St Mary's Church, Long Sutton at 7.00 pm.
