About Us

St Peter & St Paul’s is a large and magnificent village church with lots of history and things to see. Its spire nearly reaches 200 feet above the countryside and the tower gives tremendous views of the fens and even beyond.

We have regular weekly services, baptisms and weddings and also try and make the church available for concerts and many other events. We even have a large screen for films and 14 speaker stereo system.

The modern hall is very smart with modern toilets, disabled and baby changing facilities and in regular weekly use for church and community events. We have an annual 10 day flower festival which brings two to three thousand visitors every spring.

There was a Saxon church here, and Norman remains can be seen but most of the church dates from the 12th to the 14th Century. It has many memorials and a life size effigy of a local knight and his wife dating back to about 1300AD as well as many more treasures to enjoy. There is a lot more to see. A colour booklet about the Church is available by post or from the church – Cost only £2. But “church” is the people and we celebrate and share the love of God in Jesus Christ in all we do and welcome anyone to come and join us or to come and see or use the church or hall.

We welcome people of all ages to Communions, Family Services, Special event services, traditional Book of Common Prayer Evening Prayer and Messy Church for children who bring an adult!
