About Us

Since October 2008 regular services of worship have not been held at St George’s but the building is still consecrated as a church. Its main function at present is as a venue for community and parish activities. It is regularly used by many local groups and organisations.

Those who used to be members of the congregation there now worship at All Saints’ Church, playing an active role both in worship and in the wider life of the church. Some of those members belong to the PCC (Parochial Church Council) which continues to maintain and improve the premises for use both by the parish and by the wider community. Currently St. George’s Community Centre is managed by a specific Management Committee.

We host a number of regular activities including a Folk Dance Club, Brownies and Guides but are also host to a number of other local groups who hire our premises.  There are two heated halls available for hire and a smaller heated room for small groups or individuals.

It has a well-stocked kitchen with cooking facilities and a fridge/freezer, and there is a recently refurbished disabled toilet and other toilet facilities. Off-road parking is available.

We look forward to welcoming you to our building. If you should wish to hire the venue for your Group or for a "One Off" fund raiser you should in the first instance contact the Parish Administrator by ringing 01427 611036 or by email at [email protected]
