West Lindsey Churches Festival

Welcome...

It's a double celebration! 2026 sees the 30th West Lindsey Churches Festival take place with a record 119 churches. Come and join us on the 9th - 10th and the 16th - 17th May.

You are invited to explore some of West Lindsey's  best treasures (and some of it's closest neighbors) in the 2026 Open Churches Festival.

The Festival is split over two weekends, the first weekend - Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th of May features the Eastern group of fabulous Churches.

Whilst Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of May showcases a superb group of Churches in the Western part of West Lindsey.

St Mary's Church - Knaith is taking part in the Festival on the SECOND WEEKEND the 16th and 17th of May, and is open from 10.00am to 4pm on both days. You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome to our unique Church in its stunning setting by the side of the mighty River Trent.

Refreshments and lots of cake will be available, along with a free guided tour and an amazing history, including tales of intrigue, calamity and tragedy. Fortunes won and fortunes lost and a fortune given away.

We are a dog friendly church, dogs on leads are most welcome. Oh, and did I mention, lots of cake!

Plenty of free off road car parking is available close to our church. Look out for the Festival Banners at the entrance to the estate off the A156 road in the tiny village of Knaith just South of Gainsborough.

Please Note Our Church is not visible from the main A156 road, we are a hidden gem close to the river.
