The Easter Vigil: Fire, Light, and Resurrection

Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
St Lawrence's, Frodingham
Address
Church Lane Scunthorpe, DN15 7AB, United Kingdom

We warmly invite you to join us for the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday, the most powerful and symbolic service of the Christian year.

Beginning in darkness, we gather around the Easter fire, from which the new Paschal candle is lit—a sign of Christ, the light of the world. From this single flame, light is shared and carried into the darkened church, as the hope of the resurrection धीरे dispels the darkness.

Through Scripture and prayer, we trace God’s saving work through history, before moving into the joy of Easter. The service culminates in the first celebration of Holy Communion of Easter, as we rejoice together in the risen Christ.

This is a service of movement from darkness to light, from waiting to joy—marking the moment when death is overcome and new life begins.

All Saints Church - New Brumby - Scunthorpe

Welcome to All Saints Church, here in Scunthorpe, where everyone is very welcome.  We meet on Sunday mornings as well as during the week.

As a parish, we are committed to the safeguarding of children, young people, and adults. We follow the House of Bishops' guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Lincoln’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
