At the Annual Vestry Meeting on 17th May 2026 Mr Peter Bass, after many years of dedicated service in the role of churchwarden, was asked to serve the people of Coningsby in 2026. Among his many duties, he ascends the church tower every day to wind the mechanisms that keep the iconic one handed clock, and the bell that chimes the hours, working. Together with his wife Marion, they maintain the interior of the church ensuring it is always clean and tidy for visitors. On the third Sunday they set up the altar for the Holy Communion services, and they prepare the church for funerals. They also maintain the church yard plan so that visitors looking for family graves in the ashes interment area can pay their respects to their loved ones. We are very privileged to have two such dedicated people serving our community. The Bain Valley Group meet every week at 9.30am to worship together in one of the four churches in the group.Services on the first Sunday of the month are held at Holy Trinity Tattershall. On the second Sunday we meet at St Mary's Kirkby on Bain. The third Sunday is at St Michael's Coningsby.The fourth Sunday is at St Margaret's Roughton.If there are five Sundays in the month, we move around the group and take account of patronal festivals.
