At the Annual Vestry Meeting on 17th May 2026 Mr Peter Bass, after many years of dedicated service in the role of churchwarden, was asked to serve the people of Coningsby in 2026. Among his many duties, he ascends the church tower every day to wind the mechanisms that keep the iconic one handed clock, and the bell that chimes the hours, working. Together with his wife Marion, they maintain the interior of the church ensuring it is always clean and tidy for visitors. On the third Sunday they set up the altar for the Holy Communion services, and they prepare the church for funerals. They also maintain the church yard plan so that visitors looking for family graves in the ashes interment area can pay their respects to their loved ones.
