We have 8 bells in our church tower, however on a good day we might have only 4 or 5 of them ringing. We are looking to build a team of at least 12 bell ringers to create a more secure future for bell ringing at Christ Church. Bell ringing requires a good sense of time and rhythm, and in return it will provide a light upper body exercise and a good work out of the mind! Join our lively, all age gathering to worship and learn more about how we can follow Jesus. Music is led by our talented worship band, with song lyrics projected onto two screens at the front.

Part-way through our gathering, children and youth go to their respective groups.

Holy Communion is held on the last Sunday of each month. All Christians are welcome to receive communion in the form of a wafer dipped in a cup of wine. For those who require a gluten free wafer, there will be a separate cup. If you prefer just to have the wafer, please let a member of the clergy know as you approach the chancel.

Our gatherings are recorded and live-streamed. None of the cameras are facing the congregation so you will not appear online.

Plan to come early because coffee will be available between 10:00 and 10:35 am. This is a great opportunity for those who attend the 9:00 am service to stay for a chat with each other and with those who are attending the 10:45 am gathering. If you're new to Christ Church, this is also a great opportunity to introduce yourself and get to know our friendly church family.

Visit the woodland, wildlife pond and poetry trail, and call in to the Cabin Cafe for tea, coffee, juice and cake. Children’s activities. Dogs are welcome.

We encourage you to join us for a short service of Morning Prayer, Monday to Thursday, at 9.00 am. Participants meet in the Upper Room at the Ministry Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Facebook and Zoom Monday - Thursday. A recording of Morning Prayer is also available to watch on Facebook after each service.

The café is located upstairs in the Ministry Centre and is open to everyone who enjoys hot drinks, cake, scones, toast and light lunches. Open Tues - Fri 10.30 am - 3 pm. It is recommended to book a table through the church office ahead of your visit. The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

Due to the high demand for this class on Wednesdays, a second session is now available on Tuesdays from 1.30 - 2.30 pm in the Ministry Centre.

Starting June 27, 2024, you’re invited to join the Ormskirk Anchorhold Prayer Noon Watch group at Ormskirk Parish Church. After the summer, the group will meet in the New Church House parish hall next to the church building. This Prayer Noon Watch is in addition to the morning prayer session which takes place every morning from 8:00 - 9:00.

We welcome all ages to join us for refreshments, board games and good conversation! And if you're up for some physical activity, play a game of table football or pool. A great place to meet up with friends, and to make new ones. We meet in the main hall in the Ministry Centre every Friday at 10:00 am.

If you're living or feeling alone and seeking companionship, join our Friday Friendship Group on Fridays at 11:00 am in Café Vista for a complimentary cup of tea /coffee and biscuits in a warm, inviting and supportive setting. The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

We invite you to join us to pray for the life and ministry of the church, including the vacant Vicar role and the appointment of a new Youth Worker. There are two opportunities to pray with us ... first, from 12 noon -1pm, and second from 7-8pm. Both times we will be in the Ministry Centre.

Why don’t you take a break from cancer and come and join us. It’s going to be good. Jan Cashen and Jeanette Lupton are hosting a peer support group for those affected by cancer; including those who have, or have had cancer, as well as their family and close friends. The group meets on the first Friday of each month from 2-3 pm in the Ministry Centre.

Please come and join us for tea and biscuits; it’s free.

Bring along your knitting needles and wool to Café Vista, where you can meet up with our Knit and Natter group for morning coffee and conversation. The cost is £5 in aid local charities. If you have any wool you'd like to donate, the Knit and Natter group would be very grateful so they can continue knitting items for various groups and charities! All are welcome! The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

Our Toddler Group is run by volunteers to support the local community. Our aim is to provide a safe, relaxed, friendly and inviting space for all pre-school aged children (0-3 years) and their carers ... whether that's Dad, Mum, Grandparent or carer. There's plenty of space for the more energetic little person and quiet spaces for the smaller or more static ones. Plenty of toys, and we provide refreshments for all ages!

Due to the popularity of this Group, we operate a waiting list.

On Sunday, November 2 at 3:00 pm, we will be holding a special service for those who have lost a loved one. During the service there will be an opportunity through music, poetry and the lighting of candles to remember before God our loved ones, to reflect on special memories, and to remember each other in our prayers.

A traditional carol service by candlelight, featuring the St. Helens Youth Brass Band and guest speaker Rev Neil Short, followed by mulled wine and mince pies. A time to sing your favourite carols and reflect on the real meaning of Christmas. Our bellringers will precede the service by ringing the church bells.
