If you're living or feeling alone and seeking companionship, join our Friday Friendship Group on Fridays at 11:00 am in Café Vista for a complimentary cup of tea /coffee and biscuits in a warm, inviting and supportive setting. The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

Join us for a relaxing evening with ‘Games at your table’ … all your favourite games (and some new ones) rotated throughout the evening so that everyone can join in on the fun and friendly competition. It’s the perfect chance to catch-up after our summer break.

Join us for a delicious cooked breakfast at Café Vista in the Ministry Centre. A full breakfast menu with lots of choices is available for you to select from and enjoy! Note: No need to pre-book, however keep in mind that last orders are taken at 11:45 am. The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

This service follows the modern Common Worship service pattern with two Bible readings, traditional hymns and a sermon. All Christians are welcome to receive communion which is currently given in the form of a wafer dipped in a cup of wine. For those who require a gluten free wafer, there is a separate cup. If you prefer the wafer only, let a member of the clergy know as you approach the chancel.

Coffee will be available between 10:00 and 10:35 am. This is a great opportunity for those who attend the 9:00 am service to stay for a chat with each other and with those who are attending the 10:45 am gathering. If you're new to Christ Church, this is also a great opportunity to introduce yourself and get to know the friendly church family.

We have 8 bells in our church tower, however on a good day we might have only 4 or 5 of them ringing. We are looking to build a team of at least 12 bell ringers to create a more secure future for bell ringing at Christ Church. Bell ringing requires a good sense of time and rhythm, and in return it will provide a light upper body exercise and a good work out of the mind! Join our lively, all age gathering to worship and learn more about how we can follow Jesus. Music is led by our talented worship band, with song lyrics projected onto two screens at the front.

Part-way through our gathering, children and youth go to their respective groups.

We encourage you to join us for a short service of Morning Prayer, Monday to Thursday, at 9.00 am. Participants meet in the Upper Room at the Ministry Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Facebook and Zoom Monday - Thursday. A recording of Morning Prayer is also available to watch on Facebook after each service.

A group for pregnant ladies, and parents with babies under 9 months of age. A chance to meet and chat over a cuppa - sharing stories and supporting one another. Cost is £2 per family.

Bring along your knitting needles and wool to Café Vista, where you can meet up with our Knit and Natter group for morning coffee and conversation. The cost is £5 in aid local charities. If you have any wool you'd like to donate, the Knit and Natter group would be very grateful so they can continue knitting items for various groups and charities! All are welcome! If you are interested in playing football, Cottage Lane Mission has organized a meet up at St.Bede’s school every Monday from 8-9pm.

Our Toddler Group is run by volunteers to support the local community. Our aim is to provide a safe, relaxed, friendly and inviting space for all pre-school aged children (0-3 years) and their carers ... whether that's Dad, Mum, Grandparent or carer. There's plenty of space for the more energetic little person and quiet spaces for the smaller or more static ones. Plenty of toys, and we provide refreshments for all ages!

Due to the popularity of this Group, we operate a waiting list.

Seniors are invited to Join us in the Ministry Centre for a three-course meal with tea/coffee, accompanied by some light piano entertainment. Cost is £7 per person. Following the lunch on June 11, there will be a talk by guest speaker Professor Kiire, a leading Gastroenterologist.

Starting June 27, 2024, you’re invited to join the Ormskirk Anchorhold Prayer Noon Watch group at Ormskirk Parish Church. After the summer, the group will meet in the New Church House parish hall next to the church building. This Prayer Noon Watch is in addition to the morning prayer session which takes place every morning from 8:00 - 9:00.

Ian Greenwood as Vicar of Christ Church Aughton, officiated by the interim Bishop of Liverpool, The Right Reverend Ruth Worsley, followed by a bring and share Faith Supper in the Ministry Centre. Whatever you decide to bring, please ensure all food items are brought on a plate and can be eaten without the use of cutlery, for ease of serving and cleaning up. Jan Cashen and Jeanette Lupton are hosting a peer support group for those affected by cancer; including those who have, or have had cancer, as well as their family and close friends. The group meets on the first Friday of each month from 2-3 pm in the Ministry Centre.

We invite you to join us to pray for the life and ministry of the church, including the vacant Vicar role and the appointment of a new Youth Worker. There are two opportunities to pray with us ... first, from 12 noon -1pm, and second from 7-8pm. Both times we will be in the Ministry Centre.

For Harvest this year we are celebrating all of God's wonderful creation with two services; the first at 9.00am (Holy Communion) and the second (All-Age) at 10:45am.

During these services, we be giving our thanks to God for all that he provides for us. We are asking for donations both food and monetary for the Ormskirk and Skelmersdale food banks ( see list below).

This is a wonderful opportunity to invite people who don't normally come to church and who want to celebrate the goodness of God in a variety of ways.

All are welcome; come as you are.

A traditional carol service by candlelight, featuring the St. Helens Youth Brass Band and guest speaker Rev Neil Short, followed by mulled wine and mince pies. A time to sing your favourite carols and reflect on the real meaning of Christmas. Our bellringers will precede the service by ringing the church bells.
