We encourage you to join us for a short service of Morning Prayer, Monday to Thursday, at 9.00 am. Participants meet in the Upper Room at the Ministry Centre on Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Facebook and Zoom Monday - Thursday. A recording of Morning Prayer is also available to watch on Facebook after each service.

The café is located upstairs in the Ministry Centre and is open to everyone who enjoys hot drinks, cake, scones, toast and light lunches. Open Tues - Fri 10.30 am - 3 pm. It is recommended to book a table through the church office ahead of your visit. The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

Move it or Lose it exercise classes are held in the Ministry Centre every Wednesday from 10.30 – 11.30 am.

Exercising to uplifting music, the classes are a fun way for older adults to stay active, healthy and connected. Everyone is welcome as exercises can be done seated or standing.

Starting June 27, 2024, you’re invited to join the Ormskirk Anchorhold Prayer Noon Watch group at Ormskirk Parish Church. After the summer, the group will meet in the New Church House parish hall next to the church building. This Prayer Noon Watch is in addition to the morning prayer session which takes place every morning from 8:00 - 9:00.

We welcome all ages to join us for refreshments, board games and good conversation! And if you're up for some physical activity, play a game of table football or pool. A great place to meet up with friends, and to make new ones. We meet in the main hall in the Ministry Centre every Friday at 10:00 am.

If you're living or feeling alone and seeking companionship, join our Friday Friendship Group on Fridays at 11:00 am in Café Vista for a complimentary cup of tea /coffee and biscuits in a warm, inviting and supportive setting. The cafe is accessible via stairs or a lift.

Our next GNI will be filled with song and cheer, as we enjoy the sensational Rock Choir, led by Luke their fantastic conductor, who will perform some Christmas tunes to get us ready for the festive season. We’ll provide alcohol and Christmas treats.

St. john’s Baptist Church invites you to join with fellow believers in a day of reflection as we explore the theme of 'journeys' this Advent. The perfect opportunity to take a step back from the busyness we often experience at this time of year, to unplug, relax and spend time with our heavenly father.

This service follows the modern Common Worship service pattern with two Bible readings, traditional hymns and a sermon. All Christians are welcome to receive communion which is currently given in the form of a wafer dipped in a cup of wine. For those who require a gluten free wafer, there is a separate cup. If you prefer the wafer only, let a member of the clergy know as you approach the chancel.

Coffee will be available between 10:00 and 10:35 am. This is a great opportunity for those who attend the 9:00 am service to stay for a chat with each other and with those who are attending the 10:45 am gathering. If you're new to Christ Church, this is also a great opportunity to introduce yourself and get to know the friendly church family.

We have 8 bells in our church tower, however on a good day we might have only 4 or 5 of them ringing. We are looking to build a team of at least 12 bell ringers to create a more secure future for bell ringing at Christ Church. Bell ringing requires a good sense of time and rhythm, and in return it will provide a light upper body exercise and a good work out of the mind! Let’s join together with other churches in Ormskirk for an open air service.

A traditional carol service by candlelight, featuring the St. Helens Youth Brass Band. A time to sing your favourite carols and reflect on the real meaning of Christmas. During this service we will be asking for donations to help St.Helens Youth Brass Band purchase new instruments, a and to our church so we can continue to offer warmth, love and hospitality throughout the Christmas period.

A group for pregnant ladies, and parents with babies under 9 months of age. A chance to meet and chat over a cuppa - sharing stories and supporting one another. Cost is £2 per family.

If you are interested in playing football, Cottage Lane Mission has organized a meet up at St.Bede’s school every Monday from 8-9pm.

Our Toddler Group is run by volunteers to support the local community. Our aim is to provide a safe, relaxed, friendly and inviting space for all pre-school aged children (0-3 years) and their carers ... whether that's Dad, Mum, Grandparent or carer. There's plenty of space for the more energetic little person and quiet spaces for the smaller or more static ones. Plenty of toys, and we provide refreshments for all ages!

Due to the popularity of this Group, we operate a waiting list.
