About Us

A very warm welcome to St Matthew's Parish Church. Our mission is to be a welcoming church to everyone, where the love of God is encountered through our worship and our life together as a church in this community, and where lasting friendships are formed and nurtured.

Our main act of worship is Family Holy Communion.

Our usual service times are:

9.00am BCP Holy Communion (said)

10.30am CW Family Holy Communion (choral)  (Parade Service on the second Sunday of the month)

12.30pm Baptisms (on the first and third Sundays)

6.30pm Choral Evensong (BCP Holy Communion on second Sunday of the month)

Vicarage Office Hours:  Tuesday evenings from 6.30 - 7.30pm - arrangements for Baptisms and Weddings.  Funeral arrangements are made via the Funeral Director

St Matthew's, Highfield is part of the West Hub Parish within Church Wigan, including St Paul's Goose Green and St James with St Thomas.

West hub is served by Revd. Mark wade as Hub Leader and by Revd. Dawn Harrison as Associate Hub leader.
