The clock hangs over the street in St Mary-at-Hill and is one of the church's most recognisable features. It can be seen from the old site of Billingsgate Market at the bottom of the street and was no doubt used by the porters there. Sadly over recent years the bracket it hangs on has been damaged and the clock is in urgent need of support to stop it from falling. There is already a noticeable tilt! Supporting rods will reinforce the oak beam and then the clock case will be restored. The mechanism will be set to work again and once more this beautiful clock will fulfil its original purpose.
