We had a very successful licensing service for Father Stephen Hearn on Wednesday 24th September. One hundred and twenty people gathered to welcome in our new priest and to see the moment of the official beginning of his relationship with St Thomas the Apostle Finsbury Park and St John the Evangelist Brownswood Park.Many clergy, local dignitaries and the wider community joined together to pray, sing and fellowship as we welcomed Father Stephen to our parishes.Father Stephen will be taking Sunday service from the 28th September. It is an amazing feeling to finally have a permanent priest. We are looking forward to working with and getting to know him. Look out for Father Stephen as he gets to know the neighbourhood and finds out what ministry is needed in the local area.We thank God for all that He continues to do for the two churches, Father Stephen and his family and the people that we are here to serve.
We are pleased to announce that Father Stephen Hearn has been appointed as Priest in Charge of St Thomas' Finsbury Park and St John's Brownswood Park.Father Stephen is currently Chaplain to the St Marylebone Church of England Schools and Associate Priest of St Marylebone Parish Church in the Diocese of London, since July 2022.He brings skills and experience from previous posts in both parish ministry and educational chaplaincy. He is passionate about the mission opportunities of Anglo-Catholic parishes in diverse urban communities and is greatly looking forward to moving.Father Stephen Hearn's licensing service will take place on Wednesday 24th September at 7.30pm at St Thomas' church. Refreshments will be available from 6.30pm. We would love to have you here to officially welcome Father Stephen to his new role.
