St Alphege Edmonton
We are in a new lockdown, as you will all know. Although communal worship can continue as before (provided that we all abide by the requirements to wear masks or face coverings and to ensure that there is no interaction between members of different households or support bubbles before, during, or after the service) many of you - especially if you are elderly or have existing medical issues, or share a household or support bubble with someone who is shielding - will want to be very cautious about coming out of your houses for any reason.
If that applies to you, please be reassured that you will not be expected to be in church in person, and indeed I'd ask you to think very carefully before attending.
For others, we can continue to worship safely so long as we scrupulously observe all the safety measures. However, we have reluctantly decided that opening the church on Wednesday evenings for mass will be discontinued in the face of increasing infection rates. We are currently staying open on Sunday mornings, but this is also being constantly reviewed in the light of the latest information and policies.
MASS on the 2nd SUNDAY in ORDINARY TIME, which was livestreamed from St Alphege on SUNDAY 17th JANUARY, can be seen here.
The MASS on the Solemnity of the EPIPHANY of the LORD, livestreamed at 1930 on WEDNESDAY 6th JANUARY, can be viewed here.
We will continue to livestream the Sunday masses from church, and the most recent livestreamed mass on Sunday, along with that for the Solemnity of the Epiphany, can be accessed using the links above.
Our online presence through the following will continue as before:
** Every morning some of us are meeting on Microsoft Teams to say the Office of Readings and Morning Prayer. It happens at 0715, and if you'd like to join in live, let me know via the 'Get in touch' page, and I'll send you a link to join the group. The recording is then posted here.
**A video of the Angelus, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction has been posted here. Please, if you wish, view this and join in the Angelus and adoration of the Real Presence of our Lord 'in spirit and in truth'.
** A virtual pew sheet, containing the collects, readings, etc for the day will be posted here.
