Loft Emptying Day - Saturday 27th January

Occurring
for 2 hours
Venue
St. Mary's Church, Ellenbrook
Address
Ellenbrook Road, Boothstown Worsley Manchester, M28 1FR, United Kingdom

The vestry has been flooded from above in the recent cold weather. We're therefore emptying the loft so we can remove and sort everything in it. If you're able to help, please come along. Trips to the tip will happen and we'll need some big cardboard storage boxes.

It's very possible that we'll still find a way to serve tea and coffee to all helpers!

St. Mary's Church, Ellenbrook

Welcome to St. Mary's, Ellenbrook and St. Andrew's, Boothstown!

There has been a place of worship on the site of St. Mary's for 800 years, but 2025 was the 300th Anniversary of the consecration of our current building of the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Ellenbrook. We had several events during 2025 to celebrate this. Now in 2026 we are planning for the next 300 years of serving God and our community.

People have been worshipping in Boothstown in and around the site of the current school of St. Andrew's since the 19th century; services now take place in the school hall.

All our services are inter-generational, open to everyone of any age or background; special provision is made for children to be part of the service. Both children and adults are welcome to be baptised.

We also welcome weddings and funerals.

As well as services we hold many other events such as coffee mornings, lunch and chat and Whizzy Tots. Bible Study groups are available via Zoom, in person and even via WhatsApp. We are committed to the Everyday Faith and #More than Sunday campaigns. There's always something going on and everyone is welcome.

St. Mary’s and St. Andrew’s are part of the parish of St. Mark, Worsley, in the Diocese of Manchester, in mission partnership with Holy Rood Church, Swinton.

SAFEGUARDING.

We are absolutely committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer. The Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisors who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
