About Us

St. Edmund's is a multi-ethnic, all age evangelical worshiping Anglican community where everyone is welcomed and included in the life of our church. We draw members from the Whalley Range, Hulme and the surrounding areas. We have an Urdu speaking Anglican congregation worshiping as part of St Edmund's who meet on Sunday's at 4.00pm weekly.

St Edmund's has a step free wheelchair access into the church building and a disabled toilet.

There is a hearing loop which is a special type of sound system for use by people with hearing aids. The hearing loop provides a magnetic, wireless signal that is picked up by the hearing aid when it is set to ‘T’ (Telecoil) setting.

We have baby change facilities and a fun, bible-based group for children and young people during our weekly Sunday Service. Once a month we hold an All-Age Services to provide a time for worship together, celebrating God's family & experiencing how we all contribute to glorifying God. There is a time of fellowship after the service when refreshments are served .

We have several groups meeting during the week including a Coffee morning on Wednesdays's offering refreshments, fellowship and guest speakers and a bible study group on a Wednesday evening. St Edmund's hosts a toddler group called Happy Cats every Friday from 10.00am. Our building is used by many local organisations including Rainbow Brownies, Brownie and Guide groups, Winter Night Shelter and South Manchester Central Foodbank.

Being situated beside Alexandra Road South we are well located on bus routes and near bus stops.

The parish of St Edmund's covers part of Whalley Range and the Alexandra Park Estate in Moss Side. Our northern boundary is Moss Lane West, our southern boundary is Brantingham Road.

We are in a United Benefice with the parish of St. James', Moss Side.
