At the moment we are awaiting further guidance on what will be happening in churches during the lockdown period. In the meantime, we wish to give you information on what is happening on Remembrance Sunday 8 November 2020, which unfortunately, like so many things at present, will not be quite the same as we are used to.
There will be our usual Zoom service at 9.00 am which will include an Act of Remembrance. Normally on this day as a congregation we would attend the service at the Davyhulme Circle cenotaph but this will not be occurring. Instead there will be one service at 10.50 am which represents the whole of Trafford but will not be open to the public. Canon Chris will be taking part in this service, You will be able to follow this service live via You Tube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ4mECxDa2g&feature=youtu.be Trafford.gov.uk
This will give an opportunity for us to gather collectively as a congregation and a wider community as before.
This morning there was a private representative ceremony at the church war memorial at which wreaths were laid and the crosses commemorating the individuals named on the memorial were placed. .
The grounds are ready for Remembrance Sunday for private outdoor prayer, memories and reflections after noon tomorrow and the coming days.
These are difficult times for us all, but we continue to make sacrifices as a community for the common good.
