St John's Sunshine

St John's Sunshine is a community benefit, renewable energy 'co-op' that installed 15 photo voltaic (PV) panels on the church roof in 2012, with a further 24 being added in 2015. In 2018. 2 solar thermal panels were added to the hall roof to provide hot water to the kitchen and toilets in the busy St John's Centre. All this reduces CO2 emissions and enables the Centre, Church and community to come together locally to address the global challenge of climate change.

Since 2013, regular 'sunshine grants' have been shared with local community groups from the the Feed in Tariff (FiT). funding work with refugees, a beehive on an allotment, local growing, cycling and community activities.
