Accessibility

We have one (recently refurbished) toilet in church, with disabled access and baby-changing facilities. Additional toilet facilities are available in the church hall.

There is a baby-changing table in the toilet in church.

There is a small car park behind the church with space for approximately six cars.

The toilet is sufficiently sized to fit a wheelchair, and has a help alarm.

The church is fully accessible to wheelchair users via a ramp at the main entrance.

A hearing loop is available for users of hearing aids.

Large print orders of services are available for all services.

Assistance dogs (and all dogs) are welcome.


Our Building

Our church is a Grade II listed building.


Music and Worship

Christ Church regularly hosts concerts by the William Byrd Singers, Manchester Chamber Choir, and the Northern Chamber Orchestra, among others. See the Service and Events page or our website for details of upcoming concerts.

We have a Binns/Sixsmith/Nicholson Nave Organ (1981), which underwent major refurbishment in 2012. We also have a Viscount Physis Choir Organ (2011). See the website for full history and specifications. The organ is played by Richard Lowe and maintained by Andrew Carter.


Groups, Courses and Activities

Cocaine Anonymous UK meet in Christ Church hall on Sunday evenings.

There is karate in the Christ Church hall on Monday evenings.

We run Messy Church sessions during the school holidays with our neighbouring churches in Withington.

A number of toddler groups use our church halls throughout the week: Tumbletots, Storks, Toddler Sense, and Mother Hen Drama Adventures for Children.

Outside the usual service times, Christ Church is open between 10 and 12 on Wednesdays and Saturdays.


Other Features

Christ Church hall hosts the Chorlton and Didsbury Foodbank, which is open between 11 and 1.30 on Wednesdays. There is a collection point in church for donations.

We sell a range of Fairtrade product on our stall in the church.

Our hall has a fully equipped kitchens, toilet facilities, and a sprung floor for gym and dance. Contact Rev Anne if you are interested in hiring it.
