Church of England Diocese of Manchester Hollinwood

About Us

The Parish of Hollinwood and Limeside was created in 2002 by uniting the former parishes of St Margaret, Hollinwood and St Chad, Limeside. We are a worshipping and inclusive community, sharing God's love with everyone. This is a vibrant parish with many activities for all age groups.

The Church building, which was consecrated in 1879, is an impressive Victorian structure which is Grade II listed. It stands on the site of a much older church building which explains why some of the tombstones in the grave yard predate the present building.

Our worship is centred on the Mass and our style is in the Anglican-Catholic tradition. The times of Mass can be found on our website.

We subscribe to the aims and objectives of Forward in Faith and The Society and we have passed the Resolution under the House of Bishops' Declaration. Episcopal oversite is undertaken by the Bishop of Beverley, the Rt Rev'd Glyn Webster.

The parish of Hollinwood, St Margaret and Limeside, St Chad is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). The Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the Police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
