About Us

A friendly and growing church serving the local community of Lower Moor.   We are the oldest & biggest Community building in the area - built and paid for by the Colliers & Mill workers of the area.We have been here since 1873 but only our Church Warden, remembers those days.  Our Vicar Rev'd David Austin only arrived in 2018.

We are a family friendly church & welcome children/babies (& adults too) - you take us as you find us.  We believe in a Church that does not discriminate against people on the basis of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, physical or mental abilities. Everyone is welcome here to worship and to share in the life of this Parish. We don't stand on ceremony - apart from at the altar. We love our area & love our Worship  -  we are informal in a 'Low Catholic' style with occasional incense and full vestments. We are committed to serving the area including the two primary schools in the vicinity. We also have outreach services and social evenings on the estate at Wallshaw St tenant lounge.   Midweek we have a Weds gardening/social group and 7pm Weds Communion.
