Church of England Diocese of Manchester St. John with St. Mark, Bury

About Us

St John with St Mark Church is on Sunny Avenue just off Walmersley Road in the northern part of Bury. Together with Christ Church Walmersley we form the United Benefice of Walmersley Road. We are a broad mix of ages and backgrounds with an extensive range of groups, activities and interests as you'll see from our website: https://stjohnstmarkchurchbury.com/

Our Benefice clergy team includes the Vicar, Readers, Authorised Lay Ministers and retired clergy... We have a rota of church organists though sometimes we have to use CD's! Together this means variety of tone and pace to our services while set within a familiar structure of using 'Common Worship'.

We also have a more informal Cafe Church 4 times a year, once a month we have [email protected] evening praise services and around 4 Parade Services a year, some mid-week.

Our main service is at 10.30am on a Sunday and you're very welcome to join us for this or for any other of our services or activities during the week. On the third Sunday of the month we have a 'Service of the Word' i.e. no Communion.

Please click on the home page or the calendar page of our church website to see what's going on. We have full access to church, hall and in-between for those in wheelchairs. Our web site has voice enabled search facilities and the posts can be listed to as well as read.
