Think differently about “disability”.

Take a moment to consider:
Do you understand what disability is?
How confident are you talking about disability?
Do you think you operate in a way that is accessible to all people?
Do you understand your responsibilities towards accessibility?

What will be in the session, led by Dr Minna Moffatt-Feldman from Caritas:
Models of disability, equality and equity
Universal Design
The language we use, attitudes and mind-sets
A chance to ask questions without judgment

Accessibility of our sessions
We at Caritas, believe that everyone should have opportunity to participate in all activities. This includes people who use our services, employees and volunteers. Together we will work alongside individuals to find inclusive ways of working that suit them best. We seek to welcome, integrate, and support the participation of all people by making our projects accessible. If you face barriers because of your physical, mental & emotional, learning, sensory and/or communications needs, please let us know.

St John with St Mark

Welcome to St John with St Mark, Bury.

Please take a look to see what regular services we have on - or go to our church website for our calendar, hall details, news and sermon archive.

We are very pleased to say that a new Vicar has been appointed and that Harvie Nicol and wife Sally will be joining us in mid-April 2024. We are extremely thankful for the support of our wardens and ministry team as well as a dozen or so clergy from nearby parishes.

The parish of St John w St Mark is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, (PSO). The Diocese of Manchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
