About Us

People have been faithfully meeting together, praying and worshipping God at St Thomas for 160 years.

More recently, the existing St Thomas congregation partnered with Manchester Diocese, Revitalise Trust and a team from Nelson Street Church in Rochdale to revitalise mission in the local area and become a Resource Church for Bury.

We believe that God is at work in the world, and that he invites us to be part of his plan, a plan to see people experience freedom, forgiveness, and his life-transforming love.

We love Jesus, we love the bible, we love praying and worshipping together, and we love our town. We believe that God speaks to us today and is at work in the world and in our lives through the Holy Spirit.

You are welcome to come and join us, whether you know Jesus, want to know Jesus, have questions about life and faith, or you'd just like to make friends in your community.

We meet each Sunday for worship, we have a craft group and coffee mornings and run an alpha course each term. Please visit our website for up-to-date information about what's happening this week.

We're currently planning some improvements, including installing a heating system, better accessibility around the building, more toilets including an accessible toilet and baby changing, and a kitchen, so our beautiful building is ready for the next season of our church's life.

During this work our building will be closed for a short period but we still be gathering to worship nearby, so check back for the latest information.
