Safeguarding

St James Church seeks to safeguard all people

St James Church and the Parish of Kirklees Valley have a deep concern for the wholeness and well being of each individual.  St James seeks to safeguard the welfare of all people, regardless of age, who come into contact with the Church and its organisations.

As members of this church and parish, we commit ourselves to the nurturing, protection and safekeeping of all, especially children and young people and adults who may be vulnerable. It is the responsibility of each individual within the fellowship of the Church to prevent the physical, sexual and emotional abuse of anyone, and to report any abuse discovered or suspected.

Our Commitment to Safeguarding

St James Church and the Parish of Kirklees Valley takes the responsibility and duty of safeguarding for all God's people extremely seriously. We follow the policies set out by the Church of England and the Diocese of Manchester according to the Parish Safeguarding Handbook for ministry and outreach, parish activities and for letting our buildings. Further information is provided in attached documents below, but please do contact us directly if you would like more information on these policies or you have any questions or concerns around safeguarding.
