Sunday Communion in Church
St James, Woolfold
Bury
Manchester
BL8 1YP
United Kingdom
St James is open for Covid-secure public worship and we continue to offer Sunday Communion at 11am and a Wednesday Communion at 1.30pm - though please keep your eyes peeled in case of any last-minute changes to this timetable in the event of a positive case of Covid-19. Please remember our pre-recorded YouTube services of Sunday Praise with hymns and live music and a service sheet for you to use at home will continue to be provided weekly, and there is no rush or obligation to come back to church physically unless you feel ready.
Nothing is risk-free, but we have taken measures in our churches to ensure we can be as Covid-secure as possible. The full risk assessment, which is an ongoing live document which we will continue to update, is available on request or via a dedicated A Church Near You page. To help us all, though, I have prepared a short document called 'What to expect' which is downloadable below.
This outlines the basic plan and what church will be like. If you do wish to attend worship on Sunday, in addition to the St James service there will be two services with a limit of 16 people maximum each at our sister church of All Saints in Brandlesholme at 8.30am or 10am, with cleaning between. Please contact Simon to book your place.
If you wish to attend St James, there will be one service at 11am with a limit of 9 people. We are currently worshipping in the Parish Hall because of the cold weather. Please contact Simon or Ann Redding our Churchwarden to book your place.
For now, please don't attend if you haven't booked a place in advance - as we don't want to turn anyone away. Booking also helps with the NHS track and trace programme - and we do ask that if you attend you share your details and give your consent for contact so that we can get in touch in the event that someone tests positive for Covid-19. If you prefer to wait rather than come to church at this time, then please do - there is no need to rush back. We will offer a Wednesday Communion at 1.30pm at St James and a Thursday Communion at 10am at All Saints, so if you wish to book for these instead or as well as Sunday, please let us know. Dates and times of services may be subject to last minute change owing to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic and the changing local and national regulations we are following. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate this difficult logistical challenge.
Please do pray for our church and our ongoing worship - and remember that in the event of anyone infected attending worship, you may be contacted and asked to self-isolate, and we may have to close church temporarily again. This will be a long process - your support and patience is appreciated - but our worship of God and our church life will continue as it has done throughout this pandemic!
Third Sunday of Epiphany 24th January Worship at Home
Walshaw Road
Woolfold
Here is a special service for the Third Sunday of Epiphany, allowing us to gather, wherever we are, to hear and respond to God's word, even though we cannot all be together physically at the moment. Please use the order of service provided and follow the pre-recorded YouTube service to join in. Every blessing!
