Speakeasy is a self-funded charity supporting people who develop aphasia (difficulty communicating through speech) after having had a stroke or a brain injury – it is celebrating its 40th birthday this year! Speakeasy’s Chief Executive, Gill Pearl, will be speaking during the service at St Katharine's on Sunday 5th October (11am), so please come along and find out more about the work they do. If you wish to make a donation, please pick up a Harvest Collection envelope in church and hand it in at the office. Thank you. More information on Speakeasy’s work and activities on the web site - see: https://www.speakeasy-aphasia.org.uk (Charity number: 516092)
In these difficult times, many families are worrying about how they will cope financially, and many businesses are threatened with closure. The church also continues to have its expenses and commitments, even though the buildings themselves are not currently in use.If you normally donate money to the church via the envelope scheme and are able to continue making a financial contribution, would you consider setting up a standing order to continue your payments? If you would like information on how to do this, please contact the Vicar, or one of the Church Wardens, who will put you in touch with our treasurer. If you would like to make a donation to the church by cheque, please make the cheque payable to 'St Katharine's PCC' and send c/o The Treasurer, 6 Nightingale Road, Blackrod, BL6 5DX.Thank you for your support.
