The Bishop is delighted to announce Fr. Christopher Minchin as the next vicar of our Benefice. 

Fr. Chris writes,

“I am delighted to be invited to be the next Vicar of Christ Church Shieldfield, St Ann

Battlefield, and Chaplain to Northumbria University. It will be an honour to walk with you as your priest

and to creatively work together in sharing the love of Jesus Christ in this incredible, diverse place. This

excitement, of course, comes with the sadness of leaving the community of Benwell and Scotswood,

who I love and who have taught me so much. I am praying for you, and I ask you to pray for me and

the people of Benwell and Scotswood too.”

We will keep Fr. Chris and the people of Benwell and Scotswood in our prayers over the coming months. The institution date is scheduled for early November.
