St Mary's in Howdon

St Mary's church has played an important part in the community for over 140 years.  We offer a warm welcome, friendly caring people; a place to belong.  Whether you have a strong belief, or are just exploring - please come along.

We make every effort to include everyone and are signed up to 'Inclusive Church'

Our Sunday Services at 8.15am and 10.00am.  We still Zoom our services so if you can't make it in to church you can join in online.  Please contact Rev Sue McCormack (Sue) on 0191 2099995 or via email at [email protected] for the Zoom details.

Safeguarding

"Our parish of Willington: St Mary the Virgin is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO - Lisa Killinger on 07935437049 or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor - Carol Butler, details in the link below. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."

The above link will take you to the Diocesan Safeguarding page with contact details for Carol Butler
