St John the Baptist, Lowick
A very warm welcome to Lowick and the Parish Church of St John the Baptist.
Our new Vicar, Rev. Charlotte Osborn was licensed on Wednesday 27th January, after an interregnum of 3 years, but sadly due to the coronavirus emergency, we have taken the hard decision to keep the building closed, except for services on Sunday and Wednesday mornings. Weddings and funerals can still take place but with severely restricted numbers.
However, we are holding a virtual service with hymns, prayers and a sermon every Sunday at 11.15 on zoom, to which all are welcome by contacting Revd Canon Dr Rob Kelsey by email:
We will resume public worship on Sunday 18th April, with a service at 9.15am of Parish Communion, to which all are welcome. We simply ask that if you are visiting you give your name in advance to the Churchwarden, Prof Niall Cartlidge on 01289 381687. Face masks will continue to need to be worn.
The parish of Lowick & Kyloe: St John the Baptist is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer, PSO. The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
