The parish church of St Mary the Virgin served the old village of Easton Neston which was in the Domesday book, though only the church remains now.
The parish today includes the stately home called Easton Netson, its farms, the hamlet of Hulcote, and the Shires estate on the northern edge of the town of Towcester.
The church building is a beautiful mediaeval church with a tower and inside are some superb monuments of the Fermor-Hesketh noble family (and their servants!) who owned the surrounding estate from the sixteenth until the early twenty-first century. These include the life-size alabaster effigy tomb of a knight, Sir George Fermor, and his wife Elizabeth, any many examples of heraldry.
The comfortable Jacobean box pews have new cushions and contribute to the happy family feeling of services in this church.
The Eco-toilet outhouse is a welcome recent addition.
Regular Services are once a month at 6pm on the first Saturday of every month, Easter Eve, and Christmas Eve.
Also, there are regular, and popular, family services throughout the year: An Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Day, a Treasure Hunt in September, a Christingle Service at the beginning of Advent, and a Crib Service on Christmas Eve. These services are suitable for young children, but enjoyable by all!
Occasional services include weddings, baptisms, funerals, and musical services.
The church is open on the second weekend in September for its patronal festival, and English Heritage Open Days.
