St Peter’s Singers is a chamber choir with a very good reputation and a strong local
following. Based at Peterborough Cathedral, the choir gives concerts and sing services
at churches mainly, but not exclusively, within a radius of around 25 miles of
Peterborough: http://www.stpeterssingers.org.uk/ St Peter’s Singers was, we think,
founded in 1973 or 1974, and to mark our fifty years of music-making, we have arranged
a special day for members past and present - an informal singing tour of beautiful
churches in and around Rutland. As a way of saying thank you for the beauty and
witness of these churches and for being allowed to sing to celebrate our choir, we will be
making a donation and any received on the day, towards the Rutland Historic Churches
Preservation Trust. In our choice of pieces we will aim to sing something
contemporaneous to each building.
All visitors are welcome to our short informal musical offering in each church.
