For 34 years, CIRDIC has been offering help to the homeless, the unemployed and those with mental health issues. Most have huge problems with rootlessness, substance abuse and poor housing. Our parish has been very generous with its donations, for which CIRDIC is very grateful.
The following is a reminder of CIRDIC’s Mission Statement -
“ To welcome as Christ welcomed those who are in need. To offer love, hope and compassion, within a Christian ethos, in order to restore human dignity, self-respect and well-being. To work together, within our community, to increase awareness of our shared responsibility towards the marginalised, in our society.”
CIRDIC provides - Main meals, snacks and drinks. Warmth and company in pleasant surroundings. Clothing, bedding and toiletries. Bath and showers. Access to telephone and computers for keeping in touch with family and job-seeking. A postal address. Artwork opportunities. Access to professional services, including Holt Nurses , Podiatrists, St. Mungo’s. A listening ear and advice when requested.
With the number of clients CIRDIC regularly serves, there is always a need for men’s clothing (including underwear and socks), toiletries ( including shower gels and deodorants), shoes and bedding.
Should you wish to donate any of the above, please leave your contributions, in a plastic bag, at the St John’s or Christ the King collection points, where they will be collected and taken to the Centre.
