The Battle of Waterloo was filmed in and around Irthlingborough in 1913. This was the longest and most expensive British movie of its time and was a great success all around the world. Produced on nitrate film, it was thought to have been lost, but in 2002 about half of the footage was discovered in the BFI archives. The Irthlingborough Historical Society will be showing the movie and the background to the film.

Fun with Flags

Fr John, our Rector, leads a secret life outside the Parish, as the Chairman of the Flag Institute and is indeed one of the country's leading experts on the obscure and strange world of Vexillology, the study of flags. He shares some of the curious and amusing stories that lay behind the designs and throw a few ideas, up the flagpole, and sees if anyone will salute them!
