The Battle of Waterloo was filmed in and around Irthlingborough in 1913. This was the longest and most expensive British movie of its time and was a great success all around the world. Produced on nitrate film, it was thought to have been lost, but in 2002 about half of the footage was discovered in the BFI archives. The Irthlingborough Historical Society will be showing the movie and the background to the film.
