Dear Friend,

On Thursday 5th November 2020, England went into national lockdown. As a result of this, the government announced that collective public worship is not permitted in church buildings during this time. Worship for the Benefice of Geddington and Weekley will continue online, however. We will gather online for worship which will continue to be live-streamed on Facebook each Sunday. A midweek Holy Communion will also continue online through Zoom at 10am each Friday. To access all this visit www.facebook.com/StMaryMagdalenechurch.

Church services have not been cancelled; the church is still active in our community. Even though we are apart we can still worship together in our homes, in our schools and in our places of work. Our challenge is to discover different ways of being the Body of Christ in this time of pandemic. The ability of many to worship online, of others to be in touch with each other over the telephone, and all of us to pray wherever we are, can continue to feed and strengthen our community.

We hope that this blessing will bring you comfort in the weeks ahead:

May God keep you in all your days.
May Christ shield you in all your ways.
May the Spirit bring you healing and peace.
May God the Holy Trinity drive all darkness from you
and pour upon you blessing and light;
and the blessing of God almighty,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
be upon you and remain with you always. Amen.

Yours in Christ,

Rev’d Gillian Gamble,
Priest in Charge
