Welcome to St Paul's, a small congregation but punching above our weight ! St Paul's is on a Triangle bounded by Lincoln Rd & Bourges Boulevard roads in the New England area just north of Peterborough centre.     To see inside this Victorian Church (consecrated 1869), which is beautiful, look at our Virtual Tour on the web site. We are a friendly & welcoming group and have a Sung Eucharist at 10.30am each Sunday and a said Eucharist at 10.30am every Wednesday. Our music worship is mainly on the organ, sometimes on electric keyboard, & also using sensitive cd music to enhance the worship. Each month  we have a 4pm 'T @ 4' church for families (but all ages are welcome to come along) with craft, dvd, and food. There is also a monthly Eucharist held in a sheltered housing hall in the parish. Rev Ron Watkinson is the Vicar & has been at St Paul's since Nov 2007 & is a self-supporting minister. He has been a Chaplain in a State Secondary School locally, was also a youthworker, a Parish Evangelist and a key worker with the homeless. For 25yrs he worked as an engineer with the Ministry of Defence in Nottingham. He encourages every member ministry & as the church is situated in an area of the city with many different cultures and nationalities is keen to make links in as many ways as possible with the community.

St Paul's was built when the railways brought lots of workers to this part of the city & it was known as the Railwayman's Church with a plaque inside to the GNR workers who lost their lives working for the railway in New England. There are also 2 Cakebread & Robey & Co stained glass windows in the sanctuary in memory of a Mr Rouse  (and also his wife) who had overseen the workers at New England in the early part of the 19th Century.

. Coffee is held in the church after services & we have a paddock beside the church which we also use as a  car park. The Vicarage is next door to the church.  Rev Ron's wife, Val, is St Paul's Lay Pastoral Minister; she is also the Administrator and provides a Notice sheet each Sunday which is also emailed out; and is editor of the monthly Magazine. The web site on stpauls-peterborough.org.uk has on diary dates & 5 Minute Prayer diary & other helpful information. The church is ideal for weddings; Baptisms (christenings) are held on Sunday afternoons; Rev Ron conducs funerals in church & also at the Crematorium.~We have a part-time Children & Families Worker; regular Alpha groups for those enquiring about the Christian faith or those who would like to refresh themselves with who Jesus is and what is life all about.

We have regular opportunities for worship, study and prayer and the men meet monthly on a Saturday at 10am in Church for a SHED group time to eat bacon butties and chat.  All men welcome. Each year we have a Celebrate Marriage Service; (Feb);  Holy Week and Easter services; Patronal Lunch; Harvest Festival with a Lunch; Service for the Bereaved; Remembrance Sunday, Carols by Candlelight, Crib Service, Christmas services. We give a donation each month to a different charity & participate in the Peterborough Foodbank with the church members donating food each week.. The Church, in 2011 began refurbishment of the Church Hall, beside the Church and at Easter 2012 the Zig Zag Nursery/Pre School opened who are in partnership with St Paul's. They open from 7am-6pm Mon to Fri & got an Oustanding Ofsted in January 2016.. The church paddock is well used now for parking; Rev Ron visits the Nursery twice a week to see the children and they come into church to have special events as well as having their own services for Easter, Harvest and Christmas.

Each month we hold a St Paul's OASIS Time in church from 2-3.15pm either on a Tues or a Thursday and all are welcome to call in for a cup of tea, etc It is ideal for the older generation including those recently bereaved.. We do at least one coach trip each year for fun and fellowship. We work closely with other local churches, we generally have a visiting speaker each 1st Sunday of the month, usually from one of the mission charities we support. Every Sunday we remind ourselves that Christ is Risen, He is risen indeed, Alleluia !
