The Cathedral is open from Morning Prayer at 7:40am (Monday-Friday) and 9:00am (Saturday); for visiting Monday to Friday 9:00am–6.30pm ; Saturdays 9:00am-4:00pm. On Sundays we are open for 8:00am Holy Communion and until the end of Choral Evensong at 6.45pm. Please see our website for changes to these times.

Are you looking for a fun and engaging way to help little ones ask big questions? Look no further than #PompeyTots, a weekly service at Portsmouth Cathedral specifically designed for babies and pre-schoolers and their adults.
Join us with your little ones for a fun and engaging service, great for toddlers and their carers. Starting with a short, informal service in the Cathedral’s St Thomas’s Chapel, followed by playtime and refreshments in the Becket Hall.

Advent marks the start of our journey towards Christmas: the four Sundays of Advent are an adventure that help us prepare to celebrate the birth of the Saviour Jesus Christ.

An atmospheric service moving from darkness to light, with music sung by the Cathedral Choir and special readings foretelling Christ's coming as the Saviour of the world. The Choir moves through the whole Cathedral from West to East, and candles are lit throughout the building to reflect the dawning of the light of Christ as the season of Advent begins.

The Royal Marines Association Concert Band join together with Portsmouth Grammar School Brass Band & Senior Choir to present an evening of Christmas music. Expect to hear all your favourite Christmas tunes & much more.
Come and sing traditional Christmas carols with family and friends outside the Cathedral, joyfully accompanied by the festive sounds of the PGS Brass Band, filling the air with warmth and Christmas cheer.
Our principal Sunday service today will be a Christingle Sung Eucharist and the choir and congregation will all be able to have a Christingle to take away at the end of the service. We rejoice in the Light that Christ brings, and pray for that Light to shine out in the dark places of the world.

Tchaikovsky's elegant Nutcracker Suite leads on from Brahms' serious Hungarian Dance No. 5, before Strauss II introduces us to the boundless exuberance of the Polish March in his Trisch-Trasch Polka. In the concert's penultimate work Tchaikovsky transports the evening to the magical halls of snowy Tsarist Russia with a regal waltz from his ballet Sleeping Beauty. The evening reaches its climax with the famous Blue Danube Waltz, not only proving the crowning jewel of a fabulous night's worth of music, but the coronation of Johann Strauss II as the master of the Viennese waltz.

Janet Ayers will open the night once again leading the Southsea Community Choir through a Christmas filled set.
They will be joined by Rob Johnston a mesmirisingly good Folk Guitarist and songwriter. Portsmouths very own Jerry Williams with a special acoustic set. Headlining is Dorsets Fieldlily - a duo with songwriting and harmonies so perfect they will melt in your ears!

Join us for our popular Crib Services where we you will hear and see a retelling of the Nativity story interspersed with seasonal Christmas carols for everyone to sing. Children are invited to come dressed as an angel, shepherd or king. All welcome.

Welcome in Christmas Day with this moving and joyful celebration of Midnight Mass sung by our Cathedral Choir.
Join our cafe style all age worship as we celebrate the birth of Christ together.
Our principal celebration of Christmas is this glorious Christmas Day Eucharist sung by the Cathedral Choir, with carols accompanied by trumpets and drums.
Our Cathedral Choir returns to sing this Eucharist for the feast of Epiphany, as we celebrate the visit of the Magi to worship the infant King bringing their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Our Epiphany celebrations continue in this Epiphany Carol service with music sung by the Cathedral Choir and readings reflecting on the worship and the gifts offered by the Magi to Jesus, and how God's love in Christ is made known to all the world.
The conclusion of our seasonal Carol Services, spanning Advent, Christmas, Epiphany and Candlemas. We recall how Mary and Joseph brought the infant Jesus to present him in the Temple, six weeks after his birth, and how he is recognised as the Light of the World. Singers from around the Diocese will sing alongside the Cathedral Choir.
A celebration of the feast of the Presentation of Christ in the Temple, closing our Christmas and Epiphany worship, helping us to turn towards Lent & Easter. This service will be attended by Anna Chaplains and Anna Friends from around the Diocese.
