About Us
Welcome to St. Philip's Cosham; the church at the heart of the Highbury Estate.
In partnership with our sister church, St. Peter & St. Paul Wymering, our aim is to share God's love with the people of Cosham and Wymering in the north of Portsmouth.
St. Philip's, predominately serves the Highbury estate, and some of the surrounding areas. The Sunday service is at 11 am with a mixture of contemporary service styles.
There is a weekly community lunch club, which is open to the public and all are welcome. This is held in the church hall every Monday from 11:30.
The well equipped hall is available for hire.
The church is a historically significant, Grade II listed building. It was the last church to be designed and built by the renowned architect Sir Ninian Comper and his son Sebastian. It is described as "possibly one of the most outstanding pieces of architecture of the inter-war period”, and is listed in several guide books including: Simon Jenkins' book The Thousand Best Churches & Pevsner's Buildings of England.
