Thanks to the agreement of a local landowner the field next to the church was cleared, flattened and re-seeded to give a wonderful open space for village and church events. This was highlighted in September when the 150th anniversary of the church was celebrated. This included a concert on the evening of 12 September, a commemorative service the following Sunday morning and then a village lunch in a marquee on the field.
