Piecemakers is our weekly club for people who like to make things - sewing, crocheting, knitting and more. We gather on Monday mornings at 10.30am to 12.30pm during term-time. Christine tells us how she became a member of this group:
"I was approached some years ago by 2 ladies from the Church who asked if I would be interested in joining a sewing group and learning to quilt. As an avid sewer I said, 'definitely', and went along to the sessions. I’m pleased to say that I learned not only quilting but many more techniques. We not only share tips and techniques but also supplies and patterns etc. We sometimes take on a group project and all work together making things such as lap quilts for the local care home, a poppy curtain for the church, small Easter gifts etc., and we have a craft stall during the Christmas celebrations.
Some of the ladies I already knew from Church and some were strangers who quickly became friends. We not only share sewing tips but stories, laughter and sometimes even tears. It’s a group of lovely caring women who motivate and support each other and we would love to gain a few more new members. The group is no longer just for sewing, we have knitters, crocheting, diamond art etc. So if you are a crafter and have free time on a Monday morning, come and join us at 10.30 till 12.30, we would love to see you. I really look forward to my Monday mornings 🧵 🧶"
