We meet as women on the first Saturday of each month at 9.30am to pray together. Here Gwen tells us more about it: 

"We gather at Christ Church Hackenthorpe for an hour of fellowship, prayer and reflection on God’s word. We are also joined by a few from Emmanuel Church. The meeting begins with a passage from the Bible or a reading from a Daily Prayer Book followed by individuals bringing their  prayers. It is a time of understanding God’s Kingdom and our own journey in developing faith and knowledge of our Christian pathway. We share our praise, prayer and reflection.

We can pray for anything that is on our hearts and we often pray for the future vision of Christ Church and other local churches, for family, friends and God’s world such as where there is conflict, war and devastation which is caused by climate change, hurricanes and floods.

After our time of prayer we go to a local café for breakfast or a cup of tea or coffee. A lift is provided for those without transport. It is our hope that this prayer group continues to develop and we are keen to welcome anyone new wishing to join us. It really is an inspirational group to belong to and we excited to see God answering our prayers."
