Every Monday we gather 9.45am-10.30am to pray together. Here June tells us why she enjoys going:
"It's such a good way to start your week before all the pressures and trials of life begin. You can leave yourself outside and soak with God, it’s only for 45 minutes but you get so much from it.
You feel at peace as soon as you come through the door, you are welcomed with a cuppa, and as a group we feel very comfortable with each other. We are a mixed group, including having people come from other churches, and someone who is unable to attend church regularly on a Sunday.
We use liturgy, starting with giving thanks to God for His goodness and for what he is doing in our lives and our church, as well as for answered prayer. We then worship through reading a psalm together and engaging with a song, and then we read from another part of the Bible and we discuss what we feel God is showing us. There’s usually a theme to it that the person leading will have, and it’s all brought together when we have a time of worship, where we see where the Spirit is leading us.
We end by praying for each other, our families, friends, and whatever God might put upon our hearts. One morning while we were praying one of our group started to pray for someone else and it turned out on this particular morning that they were very much in need of prayer, and it blew the person away when they realised that the prayer was very specific to their situation, and that God should become so real and personal just for them."
