St James'

A warm welcome to St James', Clifton.

St James' is an open, welcoming and inclusive church, serving the area of Clifton, East Dene and Eastwood. Our Church family is made up of young and old, a mix of all the diversity God gifted us. We hope you can find your place in our community.

Together we work to reach all those disadvantaged by life, to care for everyone in times of need, and to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to all those who want to listen.

We celebrate Holy Communion on Sunday's at 10.30am and on special occasions throughout the year. Please do pop in and meet us.

We are always delighted to welcome enquiries about baptism—also known as Christening. Baptism is a joyful occasion, a way of welcoming a child not only into the wider family, but also into the family of faith. It’s an important step, and we want to support you in preparing for it. We ask that parents—and children too, especially if they are of school age—attend a baptism preparation meeting. These are held once a month, on the 2nd Saturday, and offer a relaxed opportunity to learn more about what baptism means, what happens during the service, and to ask any questions you may have. Baptisms usually take place during our main Sunday morning service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, where the whole church community can join in celebrating and welcoming your child. We also warmly welcome adults who are exploring faith and considering baptism—please do get in touch if that’s something you’d like to talk about.

We look forward to getting to know you.

God Bless

Mthr Caroline Wyman
