This is the last of our special liturgies for the advent to candlemas procession, and will be led by Rt.Revd. Leah Vasey-Saunders Bishop of Doncaster. A service of readings and music to allow us to think again of the time of Jesus' presentation in the temple when Mary and Joseph followed the Jewish religious practices for the birth of their first born son, and Jesus was recognised as the Saviour sent by God. Simeon, an old and devout man had been waiting for this day when God would reveal His Messiah, and knew through the Holy Spirit that this baby, Jesus, was the promised One.
